Boston Mayoral General Election 2021
After the preliminary, there was no question whether Michelle Wu was going to win the general election, the question was what would the margin of the be? On Nov 2, 2021, Wu defeated Essaibi-George in landslide by 28 points. Wu had support across the city showing her large appeal. Wu made history for being the first woman and woman of color to be popularly elected as mayor of Boston(Kim Janey was appointed). Below is the map results from the election precincts overlay with the city council districts which Michelle Wu won.
Michelle Wu also did well in the minority precincts in the general elections after doing poorly in the preliminary mainly because the acting mayor Janey had the most support in those precincts. Below is the minority-majority precincts for the general election.
